Create a Biel.ai account
Sign up at app.biel.ai. 14-day free trial, no credit card. Create a project for the docs you want indexed. - 02
Generate an Atlassian API token
In Confluence, click your avatar and choose API info → Create key. Copy the token. It is read-only and used solely for indexing. - 03
Connect your space
In the Biel dashboard, go to Sources → Confluence, paste the space URL, your Atlassian email, and the token. The first crawl runs in minutes. - 04

Does it work with Confluence Cloud and Server?
Confluence Cloud is supported. Confluence Server / Data Center is not, since the connection uses the Cloud REST API.
Can it read private spaces?
Yes. The Atlassian API token is scoped to the spaces you choose. The token is stored encrypted and used only for indexing. Your customers do not need Atlassian access to read the answers.
What about multi-space deployments?
Add each Confluence space as a separate source in one Biel.ai project. Citations preserve which space the answer came from. Useful for product, engineering, and HR spaces in the same workspace.
Will it index attachments?
Page bodies are indexed. PDFs and other binary attachments are not indexed today. For those, use the Files data source and upload them separately.
How long does the install take?
Generate an Atlassian API token, paste the space URL, save. Under 15 minutes including the first crawl.
Where does our content go?
EU-hosted by default. GDPR compliant. Your Confluence content is read for indexing only and never used to train models.
