Claude Sonnet 5 is now available

Choosing Claude Sonnet 5 from the Biel.ai model dropdown

Claude Sonnet 5 is now available to power your chatbot, on Business plans and up.

It's Anthropic's latest model, and the pitch is simple: advanced-tier answers without advanced-tier latency. Until now, picking a stronger model usually meant slower responses. Sonnet 5 narrows that trade-off.

A few ways this plays out:

  • Long answers over dense API references stay grounded without the wait that made you avoid heavier models
  • You're on Sonnet 4.5 or 4.6 and switch in place: same family, so your prompts and tone settings carry over
  • You've been on a fast-tier model for latency reasons and can finally try an advanced one without users noticing the difference in speed

To switch, open Settings > Chatbot > Model and choose Claude Sonnet 5. The models docs list every option and what each is good at.

What this means for docs teams

The latency tax on advanced models is disappearing: a docs chatbot no longer has to choose between answering fast and staying grounded across long API references. If you locked your model choice a year ago because heavier models felt too slow for support, that decision is worth revisiting.
