Data privacy settings with PII removal and IP logging controls

Compliance shouldn't depend on a custom build, so the controls teams ask for most are now built into every project.

A few ways this plays out:

PII (personally identifiable information) like emails and names is stripped from messages automatically, before anything is stored
IP logging is off when you turn it off, so you keep less data and have less to account for in an audit
Users have to accept your terms before they can chat, giving you a clear consent record

You'll find all three in Settings > Privacy, and each is a single toggle. The data privacy docs explain exactly what each control stores and what it removes.

One tip: turn on PII stripping before you go live, not after. It only applies to messages received while it's on, so enabling it later leaves earlier conversations untouched.
